Lung Scan - Perfusion

• Indications:

1. Evaluation of pulmonary embolism (PE).

2. Evaluation of pulmonary perfusion.

3. Evaluation of chest pain.

4. Evaluation of shortness of breath.

5. Evaluation of low blood oxygen saturation.

6. Usually performed in conjunction with the pulmonary ventilation and a recent chest X Ray.

• Patient Preparation:

1. Obtain a recent (within 24 hours) chest x-ray or have one ordered.
